Our findings combine two sources: public survivor stories submitted to Stronger in the Light™ and survey responses presented in aggregate. Story counts show what has been shared with the project. Survey charts show aggregate patterns from people who choose to answer additional questions.
Detailed survey breakdowns are hidden until enough responses are available. This is intended to help protect anonymity and reduce the risk of individual responses being inferred from small groups.
Story map locations are approximate. Pins are intentionally offset within the reported area and should be read as regional signals, not exact addresses.
This data is not a representative population survey. It reflects voluntary submissions from people who found and chose to use this project. The findings are best understood as survivor-centered signals that can reveal patterns, gaps, and questions for further work.
Abuse is often discussed as isolated incidents. Aggregated data helps show scale, timing, disclosure patterns, and justice outcomes while reducing the risk of exposing individual survivors.
